1. Lagos Coronavirus Patient Attempts To Escape, See Reason

Lagos coronavirus patient quarantined at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, attempted to escape from the facility on Friday, February 28.

NewsOne Nigeria recalls that the Lagos coronavirus patient, an Italian, was confirmed to have the virus on Friday morning, three days after he arrived in the country. He flew in from Milan, Italy, into Lagos before heading to Ogun state where he first showed symptoms of the disease.

2. Coronavirus: Ogun Quarantines 28, Shut Down Popular Firm

The incident of Coronavirus recorded in Ogun State, has forced Governor Dapo Abiodun-led Ogun State Government to shut down Lafarge in Ewekoro part of the southwest state.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the development is coming after the Federal Ministry of Health on Friday morning, February 28, confirmed the first case of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.

3. Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu, ‘One Million Biafrans’ To March For Freedom, See Date

Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), will lead “one million pro-Biafra activists” on a march for “freedom, civil and political rights” come June 2020, a circular by the secessionist group has revealed.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the circular said Kanu, who is currently on exile and “one million Biafrans” will march for freedom, civil and political rights on Saturday, June 20, 2020, in Washington DC, the United States of America (USA).

4. Pastor Adeboye In Fresh Trouble

Pastor Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), is in fresh trouble for asking state governors and members of the State Houses of Assembly to cut their salaries and emoluments by 50 per cent.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that a couple of weeks ago, Pastor Adeboye, whose full name is Enoch Adeboye, stirred the hornets’ nest when he called on all the 36 state governors and members of the State Houses of Assembly to cut their salaries and emoluments by 50 per cent in order to tackle the challenges the state governments were facing in education, health and other critical sectors.
