Akwa Ibom Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has broken the silence on using his late wife for sacrifice.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has declared that his family is intact despite allegations of ritual sacrifice from his daughter, Jane.
This online news platform recalls that Jane Edidiong Ufot, the daughter of Akwa Ibom governor Umo Eno, had accused him of sacrificing his deceased wife (her mother), Patience Oluwakemi Umo Eno.
Mrs Ufot, who was appointed as a senior special adviser to the governor on health, safety, and environment, accused her father in a video posted on social media.
The governor’s daughter insisted that she would not be sacrificed the way her mother was, alleging a sinister threat to her life and that of her little daughter.
“I’m not a sacrifice, mummy was, but I’m not,” thundered the governor’s daughter.
Mrs Ufot handed the phone to her little daughter, who appeared to be on a video call with Mr Eno. Mrs Ufot told her daughter to ask the governor whether he wanted to kill her (his grandchild).
“So, Grandpa, do you want them to kill us?” the minor asked, repeating the question as instructed. “Do you want them to die like my baby brother died?”
There was no audible response from the governor during the exchange, and it remains unclear who the child was referring to when she mentioned “them.”
Mrs Ufot said her life was on the line due to undisclosed revelations that may soon come to light.
“If I die today or my daughter dies. If we die because God is exposing the truth, so be it. But my blood will not go scot-free,” the governor’s daughter cried out.
Reacting to the video, Governor Eno blamed the trending video on detractors.
Addressing journalists in Uyo, the state capital, Governor Eno said he is focused and can’t be distracted.
He blamed political detractors for circulating the old video as a tool of distraction.
The Akwa Ibom Governor said: “My family is intact and you can see all of them here. The event you are talking about took place immediately my wife died last year, so why is it surfacing now on the eve of our second anniversary when we are celebrating the milestone we have achieved?
“That teaches me that there are detractors around. My family is intact, that’s Jane herself there. We are a good family.
“I can’t be detracted, I remain focused. I will continue to serve Akwa Ibom people.
“My family is intact. Even in politics, family should be off limits,” he said.
