Apostle Suleman Explodes Over Arteta’s Appointment As Arsenal Head Coach

Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries (OFM), has condemned the appointment of Mikel Arteta as the new head coach of the Arsenal Football Club.

YaahooJournalist had reported earlier that Arteta, who is a former Arsenal player, was given a three-and-a-half-year deal at the North London club.

The development means Arteta leaves his role as Manchester City assistant manager and replaces Freddie Ljungberg, who took over as interim head coach following Unai Emery’s sacking last month.

An official statement announcing Arteta’s appointment reads; “This is a huge honour,” said Arteta, whose coaching team has yet to be announced. “Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world.

“We need to be competing for the top trophies in the game and that’s been made very clear to me in my discussions with (club owner) Stan and (director) Josh Kroenke, and the senior people from the club.

“We all know there is a lot of work to be done to achieve that but I am confident we’ll do it. I’m realistic enough to know it won’t happen overnight but the current squad has plenty of talent and there is a great pipeline of young players coming through from the academy,” the statement added.

Speaking on his first task after getting an appointment from Arsenal, Arteta said: “My first task will be to get to know the players better and get them playing the kind of fast-flowing, attacking football that Arsenal supporters around the world want to see,” he said.

Apparently displeased with the appointment, Apostle Suleman took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter, to rant, adding that Arteta’s appointment as Arsenal Head Coach might make him (Apostle Suleman) quit as Arsenal fan.

His words: “Mikel Arteta now Arsenal coach?..former Manchester city assistant coach/former Arsenal midfielder?..or is it another Arteta?..dis is another gamble..ok, I think am quitting…Goodluck…

“Every Arsenal fan deserves respect..our shock absorber is out of this world..heart attack has given up on us…but it’s time to start winning not to remain in mid~table..enough money to buy players might be the only way out…”
