NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Nnamdi Kanu, who is the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has alleged that Nigeria’s First Lady, Aisha Buhari is “driving a supremacist agenda aimed at elevating the Fulani to the status of new suzerains of Nigeria”

Kanu who is on exile made this comment on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, where he added that the First  Lady is engaged in “reverse separatism from the very top as President.”

The IPOB leader who doubles as the Director of Radio Biafra, wrote: “[Aisha], a Fula, is driving a supremacist agenda aimed at elevating the FULANI to the status of new suzerains of Nigeria. In other words, [Aisha] is engaged in REVERSE SEPARATISM from the very top as President” – From ‘Nigeria: A Nation In Reverse Separatism’ by Russel A. Crowe,” the IPOB leader tweeted.

Similarly, the Presidency has said the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is plotting to stir a global apathy against Nigeria by falsely claiming that Christians are being persecuted.

Garba Shehu, the  Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, who made this comment on Sunday, added that IPOB had secured the services of lobbyists and funded non-government organisations (NGO) to drive concocted claims against the Federal Government.

The Presidential spokesman lamented the aim is to diplomatically blackmail foreign countries, including the United States of America (USA) and the United Kingdom (UK), into rupturing relations with Nigeria.

Shehu said the elaborately planned scheme, which had already started gaining steam with some officials of the American government, including the Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, had been receiving monthly funding of $85,000 since last October 2019.

The Presidency IPOB in the statement by Shehu that IPOB’s the Christian persecution claim should not be taken seriously, stressing that Nnamdi Kanu is only interested in  Biafra and that the  ‘Jewish’ claim by the leadership of the IPOB, is not a position shared by the generality of the members.
