Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has written the Emperor of Japan, over President Muhammadu Buhari‘s visit to the Asian country.

YaahooJournalist reports that President Buhari departed Nigeria for Japan on Sunday, to participate in the Seventh Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD7) holding in the City of Yokohama from August 28 to August 30.

Before the President’s visit to Japan, the IPOB leader had earlier instructed members of the pro-Biafra group to arrest the President when he arrives.

In a statement signed by IPOB’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, had quoted Kanu to have urged his followers to arrest President Buhari and hand him over to security operatives because he is an impostor.

“The formidable IPOB family in Japan is hereby placed on direct order to ensure the impostor Jubril Al-Sudani, masquerading as the late dictator Muhammadu Buhari, is arrested and handed over to the authorities when he sets foot on Japanese soil,” the statement read.

Days after the statement by the IPOB spokesman, another statement has emerged revealing that Kanu has written the Emperor of Japan over President Buhari’s visit to Japan.

A copy of the letter which was obtained by Vanguard Newspaper quoted Kanu asked the Emperor of Japan to “use his considerable standing as the symbol of Japan to demand an honest investigation” into the allegation that President Buhari is an impostor whose name is Jubril Al-Sudanni from Sudan.

The letter reads: “The Nigerian President’s visit of the esteemed and revered throne of Chrysanthemum Emperor Naruhito of Japan, is a likely desecration of the Royal Palace in Tokyo.

“Yesterday August 24, 2019, I took the liberty of writing to the court of His Imperial Majesty of the most esteemed and revered Throne of Chrysanthemum Emperor Naruhito of Japan, on the likely desecration of the royal palace in Tokyo with the presence of Nigeria President.

“I most respectfully drew the attention of His Imperial Majesty to the damaging impact the presence of Nigeria President would have on the ancient values of the Japanese society that prides itself in upholding the highest standards of honour and probity.

“I equally requested the Emperor use his considerable standing as the symbol of Japan to demand an honest investigation into some of the issues we have raised over who the President is.”

“IPOB planned campaign against Buhari and the request on the Japanese authorities we know are best placed to unravel and confirm the truth and the rude shock Nigeria is about to receive on a rude awakening over its President.”

Meanwhile, Naruhito is the Emperor of Japan. He acceded to the Chrysanthemum Throne on May 1, 2019.
