Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦1,280 per $1 today, Newsone reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
Newsone Nigeria reports that in the black market, the players buy a dollar for N1,250 and sell for N1,280 on Friday, 29 March 2024, after they purchased N1,250 and sold for N1,280 on Thursday, 28 March 2024.
Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the USD started this week at ₦1,480 in Parallel Market also known as Black Market on Monday, March 25, 2024, in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at ₦1,520 last week on March 18, 2024.
