Newsone Nigeria reports that the death of the former England coach was confirmed in a terse statement released on Monday, August 26, 2024, by Eriksson’s family.
“Sven-Goran Eriksson has passed away,” the statement read.
“After a long illness, SGE died during the morning at home surrounded by family.”
Before his death, the 76-year-old Sven-Goran Eriksson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
At the beginning of 2024, the Swede revealed he only had a year to live “at best”.
