Former UNILAG VC Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe is dead.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Prof Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe is dead.

This online news platform understands that Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe died on Sunday afternoon at the age of 71.

The demise of the former UNILAG VC was announced in a statement by the Registrar and Secretary to Council, University of Ibadan, Olayinka O. Balogun.

Balogun said in the statement: “With heavy heart, and submission to the will of God I write to inform Council members of the transition to glory of Professor Oye Ibidapo-Obe, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, First Technical University, Ibadan which occurred today.

“I pray for the repose of the soul of the departed.”

Reports monitored on various online news platforms in Nigeria say the former UNILAG VC Oyewusi Ibidapo-Obe died today from COVID-19 complications.

Oyewusi Ibidapo Obe, a Nigerian professor of Systems Engineering and former Vice chancellor of the University of Lagos has passed away today from complications due to Covid 19.

He was 71 years Old.
