Full Speech Of President Buhari’s New Year Broadcast

No Coronavirus broadcast from President Muhammadu Buhari today, the Presidency has said.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that national coordinator of the presidential task force on COVID-19, Aliyu Sani, had disclosed this on Channels TV on Sunday, May 17 that President Buhari would address Nigerians in a national broadcast over the coronavirus pandemic today.

However, the Presidency on Monday debunked reports that President Buhari would be making a media broadcast today on the next phase of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic ease in the country.

Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, who clarified this in a tweet, denied Sani’s claim, saying no Coronavirus broadcast was planned today, adding that whatever update was available would be passed on by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) during its usual briefings.

The Presidential spokesman while giving the update on the micro-blogging site wrote: “No presidential broadcast on COVID-19 updates today. None was planned. Rather, the Presidential Task Force will during its usual media briefings bring the nation up to speed on the next steps,” the tweet read.
