Buhari Takes Major Decision Over Xenophobic Attacks on Nigerians In South Africa

President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria says he will be sending a Special Envoy to President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa to share Nigeria’s deep concern about the security of Nigerian lives and property in South Africa.

The President was reacting to the recent Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians residing in South Africa.

YaahooJournalist reports that properties including cars belonging to Nigerians in the country were set ablaze by South Africans in the wake of the Xenophobic attacks.

In a viral video, South Africans also looted shops belonging to Nigerians. No fewer than three persons were reportedly killed.

Reacting to the Xenophobic attacks in a tweet on Tuesday, Buhari said,

“I am sending a Special Envoy to President Ramaphosa to share our deep concern about the security of Nigerian lives and property in South Africa, and to ensure that the South African Government is doing everything within its power in this regard.”
