Court Sends Timileyin Ajayi to Lafia Prison for Killing Salome Adaidu

A court has sent Timileyin Ajayi to Lafia Prison for killing Salome Adaidu.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Timileyin Ajayi, the suspected killer of Salome Adaidu, has been remanded at a correctional facility in Lafia by a Nasarawa State High Court.
This online news platform understands that Ajayi, who was arraigned at the High Court of Justice in Lafia before Justice Simon Aboki on Monday, is being charged with culpable homicide over the killing of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Enejo.
The state Counsel, Stanley Ifeanyi, told the court that Ajayi killed Enejo, a member of the National Youth Service Corps, in the FCT.
Ifeanyi said that the offence violated Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria, and was punishable with death.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The presiding judge, Justice Simon Aboki, remanded Ajayi at the Lafia Custodial Centre, and adjourned the case to March 17, 2025, for a hearing.
Timileyin Ajayi pledged to give the case an accelerated hearing because of its seriousness and sensitive nature.
