A court has taken a “major” decision on the removal of Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigeria’s ruling party.

YaahooJournalist reports that a move to remove Oshiomhole as APC National Chairman suffered a setback on Thursday, January 23.

This online news medium recalls that the National Vice Chairman, North East of the APC, Comrade Mustapha Salihu, a factional Chairman of the APC in Edo state, Anselm Ojezua and others had approached the court seeking an Ex-Parte order on Oshiomhole’s removal.

The APC chieftains had called on Oshiomhole to convene a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the party as part of efforts to resolve several internal crises rocking it or resign immediately.

However, Justice Danlami Senchi, sitting in a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, in Jabi, on Thursday declined the Ex-Parte Application filed by the aggrieved parties.

Earlier, the lawyer representing Oshiomhole and APC, Damian D. Dodo (SAN), had told the court that they had not been served and drew the Court’s attention to the Memorandum of Appearance and Undertaking to Accept Service of processes on behalf of the 1st & 2nd Defendants.

In his response, Justice Senchi stopped the move and ordered that the Defendants be put on notice to ensure a fair hearing in the matter.

The Presiding Judge added that the court will hear all parties instead of granting the ex-parte application to remove Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of the APC as requested by the Plaintiffs.

Justice Senchi thereafter adjourned the matter to 18th February 2020 for the hearing of the Claimants’ application.
