Smart Adeyemi, the winner of the Kogi West senatorial election, says outgoing Senator Dino Melaye, is his “political houseboy.”

YaahooJournalist reports that Adeyemi made this comment in an interview with journalists after his victory at the polls.

YaahooJourmalist recalls that Adeyemi, who contested the Kogi West senatorial election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) defeated Melaye, a candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to emerge the winner of the Kogi West election.

This online news platform understands that Adeyemi was declared the winner of the Kogi west senatorial election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The returning officer of the election, Olayinde Lawal, declared Adeyemi winner of the election at the end of the rerun on Saturday, November 30.

According to the INEC returning officer, Adeyemi polled 88,373 votes to defeat his closest challenger and candidate of the PDP, Dino Melaye who got 62,133 votes.

Reacting to his victory, Adeyemi said:

“When a servant steals the garment of his master, the garment will be too big for the servant… the joy of having his master’s garment will cause the servant to misbehave to people he ordinarily could have respected. The over-sized garment made Melaye to misbehave while in the senate,” he added.
