Deji Adeyanju, a political activist, has accused the Department of State Security (DSS) of hiring thugs to beat him up during a protest.

YaahooJournalist reports that Adeyanju alongside other protesters demanding the release of Omoyele Sowore, who was in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) the were attacked by thugs in Abuja.

This online news medium recalls that the incidence took place at the headquarters of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Abuja when the protesters went to submit a letter of protest to the commission.

YaahooJournalist learned that the activist was flown overseas for adequate medical treatment.

Adeyanju was reportedly in critical condition at the hospital following the deadly attack that left deep cuts all over his body.

Reacting to his attack for the first time in a statement on Sunday, the former PDP Director of New Media, said the DSS had also planned to attack Omoyele Sowore too.

His words: “The SSS behind my attack.

“After they failed with their gunpoint bribing strategy, they decided to finish me up by contracting thugs and miscreants.

“They contracted one Ali from Kano who subcontracted the tout that led the thugs who attacked me.

“They hired same people to protest at Sowore’s court and had planned same attack on Sowore if his rearrest was unsuccessful.

“The leadership of this SSS is the worst in the history of Nigeria. That is why ordinary gathering intelligence on prevention of Boko Haram has become a mirage”
