Sokoto Deputy Governor has dumped PDP for APC.

Newsone reports that the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, northern Nigeria, Mannir Dan’iya, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the ruling party in the West African country.

This online news platform understands that the resignation of the Sokoto Deputy Governor is coming a few days before the Presidential election.

In a letter dated February 8, 2023, and addressed to the Kware Ward PDP chairman, the deputy governor said, “I write to notify you of withdrawal of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from 8 February 2023. I appreciate the opportunities given to me, which made me serve in various capacities under the PDP.”

Newsone Nigeria reports that Dan’iya who is currently the PDP Sokoto Central Senatorial Candidate will be received by President Muhammadu Buhari into APC today.
