Popular Sokoto APC Lawmaker Slumps, Dies

Isah Harisu, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has passed away.

YaahooJournalist reports that the Sokoto APC lawmaker slumped and died during plenary on Monday, December 30.

Late Harisu, who represented Kebbe Constituency, was said to have arrived the assembly complex in seeming good health.

YaahooJournalist gathered that he later showed signs of discomfort, slumped and died.

Abubakar Magaji, the Sokoto Deputy Speaker, who confirmed his death, said that the lawmaker was rushed to Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital when he slumped in the morning.

“When he slumped, he was rushed to the hospital, but he died on the way,” Magaji said.

YaahooJournalist reports that the incident was officially announced at the plenary by Magaji.

Meanwhile, the Assembly has now suspended its sitting to Tuesday, December 31.
