Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers state, south-south Nigeria, has promised the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government that Fulani Herdsmen will be allowed to lay pipes from Bonny Ocean to the north for their cattle.

Yaahoo Journalist reports that Governor Wike made this promise when he received the founder and president of Throne-Room Trust Ministries, Apostle Nuhu Kure on Saturday.

Speaking on RUGA settlements for herdsmen, the governor said there was no part of Rivers State that would be given to herdsmen.

Governor Wike stressed that the south-south state will not participate in any settlement programme for herdsmen by whatever name.

His words: “If they want water for the cattle, they can lay pipes from the Bonny Ocean to the far North for their cattle; that is what we can contribute,” Wike said.

“We don’t have lands for any settlement scheme, our land is for commercial agriculture.”

The Rivers state governor also stated that Nigeria would have ceased to exist if not for the intervention of God.

“God loves Nigeria. If not for God, there would be no Nigeria. With what we are seeing, we need God’s serious intervention.

“We need men of God to continue to pray for this country,” he said.
