YaahooJournalist reports that the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal on Tuesday, August 20, the same day it dismissed the appeal to challenge a ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal which held that they failed to file a response to an application by the All Progressives Congress.

on June 24, 2019, the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC), dismissed the PDP and Atiku’s application on the matter. But they approached the Supreme court again to appeal the PEPC’s decision.

YaahooJournalist reports that a five-man panel of the apex court led by Justice Dattijo Muhammad said the appeal was a waste of time and without basis.

Justice Chima Nweze, who read the lead judgment, said: “I see no reason for departing from the reasoning of the lower court. I find that this appeal is without merit, and it is accordingly, dismissed.”
