NewsOne Nigeria reports that a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Hon. Dipo Olounrinu, says Nigerians should beg National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu to contest the 2023 presidency.

The Lagos APC chieftain said no other politician in Nigeria possesses the political sagacity and dexterity of the former Lagos State Governor and his rich experience would greatly benefit the nation, adding that Tinubu has made not only himself but countless other successful politicians and has positively impacted the lives of millions of Nigerians.

Olounrinu, a former Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, noted that the APC National Leader was therefore in pole position to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari at the end of his second term in office.

The former chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party, noted that many persons were jealous of Tinubu’s achievement.

His words: “This (Tinubu) is somebody that has pedigree and antecedents.

“So, why the whole argument of people criticising him whether he wants to run or he doesn’t want to run?

“Even if he doesn’t want, we should beg him to, that’s just the truth.

“You need experienced people, people that have experience of life generally, they have seen the other side of life, they have seen the best part of life.

“There should be a yardstick in looking at things,” Olounrinu told Daily Trust.
