The United States (US) Senate has finally taken a major and final decision on the impeachment of Donald Trump as the President of “God’s own country.”

YaahooJournalist reports that President of the United States of America (USA), Donald Trump has been acquitted of charges levelled against him by the House of Representatives.

This online news medium had earlier reported that the House of Representatives in December 2019 impeached President Trump for Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress.

Trump impeachment

On Wednesday, January 5, The Republicans voted in favour of President Trump, with the vote on Abuse of Power standing at 52-48 and Sen. Mitt Romney was the only Republican to vote to convict the US President.

On Obstruction of Congress, The Republicans voted 53-47 while Romney who convicted Trump on the Abuse of Power charge, voted to acquit him on this charge.

YaahooJournalist recalls that Republicans in the Senate had last Friday voted down a motion to compel witnesses and subpoena documents.

This online news medium gathered that the Republican-dominated US Senate was expected to back and acquit President Trump.

President Trump has repeatedly described his impeachment as a “witch hunt” and “hoax”. He remains the third president in the history of the United States to be impeached by the House of Representatives.
