The local currency opened at N730.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market today Thursday, 29th September 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed at N722.00 per $1 on Wednesday, 28th September 2022.
Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦730 per $1 today, Newsone reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market. The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
Newsone Nigeria reports that in the black market, the players buy a dollar for N725 and sell for N730 on Thursday, September 29, 2022, after they bought N720 and sold for N722 on Wednesday, 28th September 2022. This means the exchange rate did not change its position from the previous day.
Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the USD started this week at ₦720 in Parallel Market also known as Black Market on Monday, September 26, 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at ₦712 last week Monday, September 19, 2022.
