AUDIO: ‘Please Don’t Run Away’, Shekau Begs Boko Haram Fighters After Attack From Chadian Army
‘Please don’t run away’, Shekau has been quoted to have told Boko Haram fighters after a major attack from Chadian Army.
Newsone Nigeria had reported earlier that Chadian troops led by President Idriss Debby crushed Boko Haram, freeing Nigerian soldiers in the process.
The Chadian troops dealt a major blow on Boko Haram insurgents, following the killing of 100 of its members in Magumeri, a local government in the northern part of Borno. The northeastern Nigerian state is the major hotbed of the Boko Haram crisis in Nigeria.
According to West Africa Reporters, Nigerian soldiers in the Boko Haram captivity were freed on Sunday, April 5. The report quoted sources from the Lake Chad region as saying that the Chadian soldiers are hitting the Boko Haram insurgents hard.
The report said the insurgents were fleeing and that President Idriss Déby has been moving around in a chopper to monitor Boko Haram destruction. Deby ordered the operation after the terror group killed over 90 soldiers in Boma nearly two weeks ago.
The Chadian President called it the worst attack ever on the country’s military and vowed to ensure the crush of Boko Haram around the Lake Chad region. There are over 20 villages in the area.
