Kano State Records First Coronavirus Death
Kano State has recorded its first Coronavirus death.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that the first Kano Coronavirus death was announced by the Kano State Ministry of Health in a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Wednesday night, April 15.
This burgeoning online news platform understands that the Kano State government led by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje recorded its first Coronavirus death at exactly 11:55 pm on Wednesday, the tweet by the Kano State Ministry of Health revealed.
“Wednesday, 15th April 2020. As at 11:55 pm, 1 death of #COVID19 has been recorded in @KanostateNg,” the tweet added.

Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria reports that the development came on the night Nigeria recorded new COVID-19 cases with the NCDC announcing 34 new cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria. The NCDC noted that of the thirty-four coronavirus cases recorded on Wednesday night, 18 were detected in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city, 12 in Kano 2 in Katsina 1 in Delta and 1 in Niger State, northern Nigeria.
The NCDC tweeted: “Thirty-four new cases of #COVID19 have been reported as follows: 18 Lagos 12 in Kano 2 in Katsina 1 in Delta 1 in Niger As at 11:20 pm 15th April there are 407 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 128 have been discharged with 12 deaths.
“As at 11:20 pm 15th April, number of states with confirmed cases of #COVID19: 19 + FCT Lagos- 232 FCT- 58 Osun- 20 Kano- 16 Edo- 15 Oyo- 11 Ogun- 9 Katsina- 7 Bauchi- 6 Kaduna- 6 Akwa Ibom- 6 Kwara- 4 Delta- 4 Ondo- 3 Enugu- 2 Ekiti- 2 Rivers-2 Niger- 2 Benue- 1 Anambra- 1,” the tweet added.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the development means that Nigeria’s total confirmed cases of coronavirus have risen to four hundred and seven (407) with one hundred and twenty-eight (128) people discharged and twelve (12 ) deaths recorded so far.
