High Chief Adebisi Michael Adedeji, Ojinse Owa of Ijoka on behalf of himself, and the entire member of his family commiserate with all sons and daughters of Ijesaland, Osun state government, and the entire Yoruba Nation, on the passing of their Monarch, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran II CFR LLD, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland.

This grave occurrence happened on the 11th of September, 2024, the day Ojinse Owa of Ijoka was celebrating his 30th wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Ambassador Olori Funmilayo Adedeji.

High Chief Adedeji said; “My heartfelt condolences to the Aromolaran royal family and entire sons and daughters of Ijesaland.

May the Lord grant him eternal rest and also give us the fortitude to bear the loss and guide all our Chiefs right while participating in every decision of channeling a positive future for Ijesaland.

You will be missed, Kabiyesi, but your legacy lives on. We will not forget your love and commitment to the people you served.

Recall that on the 25th of July 2024, High Chief Adebisi Michael Adedeji was installed as the new Ojinse Owa of Ijoka.

High Chief Omoniyi Ojo, Lejoka of Ilesa presented him to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran Il, CFR LLD, Owa Obokun Adimula, and The Paramount Ruler Of Ijesaland as the qualified and befitting candidate for the position.

The position was said to have been vacant for the past twenty-six (26) years after the demise of the Ojinse of Ijoka, Chief Joseph Olowookere Adedeji Gidigbi, the father of the newly installed Ojinse Owa of Ijoka, Chief Adebisi Michael Ojo Adedeji who had come to revive the position.

Chief Adedeji performed his seven (7) days of seclusion right at Ijoka land in Ilesa from the day he was conferred the royal title of Ojinse at the palace square, Oke Mese. He was honored and presented AKUN OWA (ILEKE), the royal bead on the third (3)day famously and indigenously called OJO ITA.

After his rightful seclusion session, he visited the palace of the custodian at Ijoka, The Lejoka of Ilesa for physical presentation and confirmation, as well as to receive blessings from the authority on the seventh (7)day.

The Lejoka of Ilesa did not disperse him without any advice on the norms and behavior of traditional titles. He also urged him not to betray the land, tradition, and most especially Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland. Also advised him to always be a good ambassador and representative of Ijoka, Ijesaland, wherever he found himself.

In conclusion, the brand new Ojinse Owa of ijoka in town, in the person of Chief Adebisi Michael Ojo Adedeji, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to HIM, Oba Dr. Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran Il, CFR LLD, Owa Obokun Adimula, and The Paramount Ruler Of Ijesaland for counting him worthy of this esteemed position. He also appreciated the gesture portrayed by Lejoka, the support of the Olori Ebi and the entire Gidigbi family home and abroad, his wife, Olori Ojinse Owa of Ijoka, Ambassador Funmilayo Adedeji, his children, siblings, family members, friends, acquaintance, chiefs In Ijesaland, youth, elders, Ijoka sons and daughters. The event was so amazing, impressive, and overwhelming.

He thanked each and everyone who had one way or the other been part of the journey ever since its inception.
