Fulani Herdsmen Invade Benue Community, Kill 13 People in Fresh Attack

Fulani Herdsmen have invaded Benue Community killing at least 13 people in a fresh attack.

Newsone Nigeria reports that suspected herdsmen have invaded Azege settlement, Mbaya, Tombo Ward, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, northcentral Nigeria, killing no fewer than 13 persons.

This online news platform understands that the immediate past Caretaker Chairman of Logo LGA, Benjamin Uzenda, confirmed the attack on the Benue Community, noting that the attack was carried out on Sunday morning around 7:00 am, November 24, 2024.

It was gathered that the attacks on the Benue Community by the suspected Fulani herdsmen involved arson and the destruction of farmlands and crops in the area.

Confirming the incident, Uzenda said: “They (herdsmen) were armed with sophisticated weapons and immediately opened fire on residents who were preparing to attend morning church service.

“It looks like coordinated, planned attacks as they opened fire on the harmless villagers, butchered some bodies after shooting them, and gunned down women and children.

“The invaders operated for hours and fled before security personnel arrived at the scene,” he opined.
