INEC Under Prof Mahmoud Yakubu Was A National Disgrace - Nigerian Billionaire

L-R: Atedo Peterside and Prof Mahmood Yakubu.

A Nigerian billionaire says INEC under Prof Mahmoud Yakubu was a national disgrace.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the founder of Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and Anap Foundation, Atedo Peterside, has said that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, under Prof Mahmoud Yakubu was a national disgrace.

The Nigerian billionaire made this remark on Monday while responding to questions during an interview on Politics Today, a programme on Channels Television monitored by DAILY POST.

When asked about his expectations of the new INEC leadership under Prof Joash Amupitan and the forthcoming off-cycle elections in Anambra and Ekiti states,

Peterside said: “I would never say never. But the INEC that was left by Prof Mahmoud Yakubu was a national disgrace.

“If you have time, you just have to go on the IReV. I can take you there myself and show you result sheet which they manipulated.

“Sometimes they changed figures and forgot to change the words. This didn’t add up at all.”
