Top Nollywood Producer Biodun Stephen has released an emotional masterpiece in Dark Ties.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Dark Ties, produced and directed by Biodun Stephen, is a touching family drama that follows the journey of Fayokunmi, a young man whose life changes after a final request from his dying mother, Yetunde. She sends him to deliver a letter to his father – a man he has never met.
What begins as a simple delivery quickly turns into a deeply emotional and painful journey. Fayokunmi is forced to face hidden family secrets, long-standing wounds, and a past that has shaped his identity. His father’s refusal to receive him raises even more questions, revealing a darker truth that has been buried for years.
At the heart of the film is a powerful message: Can forgiveness heal the pain caused by hidden family ties? And can confronting the past bring true closure?
The movie features strong performances from Deyemi Okanlawon, Teni Aladese, Korean Ajayi, and Biodun Stephen herself, adding depth and authenticity to the story.
Biodun Stephen once again shows why she is widely respected for her emotional and character-driven storytelling. Over the years, she has built a solid brand focused on quality storytelling, choosing truthful, relatable narratives over flashy production. She has openly shared the challenges she faces in the industry – from funding to infrastructure – yet she continues to deliver films that “speak truth, change lives, and highlight important family and social issues.”
Dark Ties is part of this mission.
Where to Watch:
The movie is available on YouTube through BiodunStephenTV, with a runtime of 101 minutes. A social media post from the filmmaker invites viewers to “Watch DARK TIES now on Biodun Stephen TV.”
