Aloy Ejimakor says Igbos are unhappy with President Tinubu over Nnamdi Kanu‘s life sentence.
Newsone Nigeria reports that Aloy Ejimakor, legal consultant to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has warned that if Kanu’s life imprisonment is not urgently ratified, Igbos would make their feeling known during the 2027 elections.
In a post on the micro-blogging site X formerly known as Twitter, Ejimakor wrote: “I travelled around entire Southeast during this Xmas/New Year period & noticed that Ndigbo are very unhappy about the conviction of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu & that if it’s not rectified urgently, they will surely make their feelings known in the 2027 elections. Even Google confirms it.”
Newsone recalls that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja sentenced Nnamdi Kanu to life imprisonment after finding him guilty of terrorism related charges.
The presiding judge, Justice James Omotosho, handed Kanu the sentence, noting that Kanu should have been giving death by hanging but he opted to be lenient in his ruling.
Meanwhile, in the past 10 years, Nnamdi Kanu has faced different charges ranging from treason to terrorism due to his agitation for Biafra.
