The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has warned candidates against misuse of their National Identification Numbers ahead of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination registration exercise.
The Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, issued the warning during an interactive meeting with the Board’s management, held in preparation for the sale of application forms and registration for the 2026 UTME and Direct Entry (DE) exams.

“Multiple/double registrations coupled with the use of multiple National Identification Numbers (NINs) by a single candidate for the purpose of double registration, impersonation, or any form of identity manipulation is strictly prohibited and will be severely sanctioned,” Prof. Oloyede warned.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the commencement of the sale of application documents for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The Board said, “Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the 2026/27 academic session.”
JAMB stated that eligibility is tied to age, noting that, “Only candidates who will not be less than 16 years old by 30th September, 2026 are generally eligible to apply/be considered.”
