Fresh Petition Filed To Disqualify Newly Sworn-In Bayelsa Deputy Governor
A fresh petition has been filed to disqualify newly sworn-in Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence O. Ewhrudjakpo.
Nigeria’s burgeoning online news platform, NewsOne Nigeria reports that a governorship candidate in Bayelsa, Vijar Eldred Opuama filled a fresh petition seeking to disqualify the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Bayelsa state, Senator Lawrence O. Ewhrudjakpo.
According to a report by NaijaliveTV, the petition seeks to disqualify Ewhrudjakpo on the grounds that he allegedly provided false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the November 16th governorship election in the state.
The report said one of the young Bayelsans is a Governorship candidate. Two of the lawyers in the team are very young Bayelsa lawyers as well.
According to one of the lawyers; “Some say it is Statute barred, others say it’s abuse of Court process, but don’t worry, there are many things about the law too deep to understand. Only the smart play the chess very well”
“Remember I say that the Deputy Governor may have Immunity, but there is another way to nail him!!”
“Just watch out for the political space!! Debekeme Powedei Vijah Inowei Eldred Opuama Aluzu Ebikebuna Augustine”
NewsOne Nigeria reports that the development followed the inauguration of Governor Douye Diri and his deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
