President Buhari Makes New Appointment For Next Level

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has made twelve (12) new appointments for his second term in the office tagged “Next Level.”

NewsOne Nigeria reports that President Buhari inaugurated Engr. Ahmed Kadi Amshi and eleven (11) others as chairman and members of the National Assembly Service Commission.

This burgeoning online news platform understands that the ceremony, which was witnessed by the President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, held at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the event, which kicked off at around 10:30 am, preceded the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which also started around 11 am at the Presidential Villa.

Meanwhile, the inauguration of Engr. Amshi and other members of the National Assembly Service Commission by President Buhari, is coming a few days after President Buhari approved the constitution of a National Humanitarian Coordination Committee (NHCC) to oversee all humanitarian actions in the country.

This online news platform understands that the committee will, among others, provide a national vision for humanitarian actions, advise on coordination between the security services and humanitarian actors, settle disputes that may arise from interactions between security services and the humanitarian community.

Other functions include: propose policies that enhance coordination and seamless delivery of humanitarian aid to affected communities, facilitate the delivery of humanitarian interventions to vulnerable persons, and promote transparency and accountability in all aspects of humanitarian delivery in the country.

Buhari appointments

The statement which was signed by the president’s special adviser on media and publicity, Femi Adesina, the NHCC will be chaired by the Minister, Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHADMSD), and National Security Adviser (NSA), as co-Chairman.
