Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady, and wife to President Muhammadu Buhari has finally commented for the first time since the rumour of her husband getting a second wife.
YaahooJournalist reports that social media has been awash with speculations that President Buhari is set to marry a second wife, with her name mentioned as the second wife in the picture.
A report by PointBlankNews quoted sources in Aso Rock, Nigeria’s Presidential Villa, revealed that President Buhari is planning to marry Sadiya Umar Farouq, the incumbent Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
The online news medium quoted a source who spoke on condition of anonymity that Ms. Farouk is a close friend of President Buhari and also well-loved by the ‘cabals’ in the President’s “Next Level” administration.
However, speaking for the first time since the rumour emerged, the First Lady kept mum on the marriage rumour but rather called for urgent action to protect the girl child from abuses.
In a series of tweets on Friday commemorate the International Day of the Girl-Child in Abuja, Mrs. Buhari, maintained that the need for parents to protect their children from all forms of violence and abuse.
