APC Reacts To Attack On Oshiomhole’s Residence In Benin
The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned the attack on the residence of its National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole.
YaahooJournalist had reported earlier that thugs attacked the residence of Oshiomhole, a former governor of Edo State on Saturday evening, October 12.
Reacting to the attack while addressing a section of his supporters, the APC National Chairman had said the attackers and their sponsors want a war.
The APC National Chairman admonished his supporters to be calm and embrace ‘peace’.
Also reacting to the attack the APC in a statement issued by National Publicity Secretary, Lanre Issa-Onilu, urged the Inspector General of Police, Mohammad Adamu to investigate the incident.
The statement reads as thus; “The All Progressives Congress (APC) condemns Saturday evening’s attack on the Benin residence of the Party’s National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by political thugs.”
“Although the APC National Chairman has rightly called for calm after the apparent attempt on his life, we call on the Inspector General of Police (GP) Mohammad Adamu and other relevant security outfits to investigate the ugly incident and prosecute the sponsors and attackers.”
“In Edo State, just as in any other state, everyone must be free to go about their normal and legitimate activities without harassment, intimidation, threat to life and property.”
“It is clear that the sponsors of the attack are bent on causing crisis in the state in pursuit of their desperate and unpopular political interests. Human life is greater than anyone’s political ambition,” the statement added.
