ASUU Sends Strong Warning To FG Over Reopening Of Schools

Published by

ASUU has sent a strong warning to FG over reopening of schools.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it has assessed COVID-19 protocols in the universities in the country and it’s unsafe to reopen universities as the federal government led by President Muhammadu Buhari has not put measures in place to that effect.

This online news platform understands that the warning from ASUU to FG was given on Sunday, January 10, in reaction to the directive of the National Universities Commission that universities could resume on January 18.

ASUU stressed that although its members were ready to start work, the federal government had not put measures in place for the safe reopening of the schools.

Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria reports that the cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in Nigeria has crossed 100,000 since the west African country recorded her first case last year.
