Biafra: Ambazonia Separatist Group Disowns Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB
Biafra group, IPOB has been disowned by Ambazonia separatist group.

Newsone reports that the leadership of the Ambazonia separatist group has completely dissociated itself from the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) led by detained secessionist, Nnamdi Kanu.

This online news platform understands that the Ambazonia separatist group in a statement by Samuel Sako, its leader, disclosed that their agitations and activities bear no resemblance to that of IPOB. In a conference on Sunday, Sako said that they have a relationship with the Nigerian Government and would not like to hamper or sabotage it.

The statement by the Ambazonia separatist group reads as thus; “It is political suicide and a very wrong calculation for us to take any position that jeopardises the lives of 120,000 of our people who are enjoying the hospitality of Nigeria right now under the eyes of the government and security forces.

“We don’t want to go into those arguments, we don’t even want to create any form of similarity because there is none. A nation that was granted independence with internationally demarcated boundaries by the United Nations system went into a union with another country that has failed and we are restoring our independence.”

“So if I say that Ambazonia doesn’t have an alliance with IPOB, the weight of that statement depends on who I represent when I said so. This is the interim government, representing more than 90 per cent of the people of the Southern Cameroons.”

“The opposition in any nation can say anything but what matters is what the government says. And we say we don’t have an alliance and we don’t intend to have one because our fights are not the same. We don’t want to be misunderstood.”

Newsone notes that this is not the first Sako is dissociating his group from IPOB. In August, he openly stated that his group has no alliance with IPOB.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria understands that the Nnamdi Kanu led IPOB, is strongly agitating for a secession of the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. The pro-secessionist is currently facing charges of treasonable felony and terrorism brought against it by the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government of Nigeria.
