Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Tables Fresh Request Before UN, EU, UK, US

Nnamdi Kanu has tabled a fresh request before UN, EU, UK and US.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has raised alarm over the current insecurity in Nigeria.

This online news platform understands that Kanu raised the alarm in reaction to the statement by Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, saying that the incessant killings in the northcentral state means that Nigeria does not have a government.

Governor Ortom had lamented that over 70 people have been murdered in two weeks in Makurdi Local Government Area.

The Benue Governor spoke to protesters on Tuesday at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Abagena village, a day after suspected herdsmen, Monday night, killed citizens and wounded many others.

“What is happening now, to me, is very clear; Mr President is just working for these Fulanis to take over the whole country,” Governor Ortom said, adding that President Muhammadu Buhari’s body language is what is being played out and that the action and inaction of Mr President “shows that he is only the President of Fulani people”.

Reacting to the Governor’s statement, Kanu called on the international body including the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), United Kingdom (UK) and United States (US) to immediately cease every military aid and assistance to Nigeria.

The IPOB leader who made this call on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, warned that the international body should “stop aiding Fulani terrorism.

Kanu tweeted: The world, @UN, MUST note that this statement came from an incumbent Northern Governor in Nigeria & not from a Separatist. @UKinNigeria,@USinNigeria,@StateDept &@EUinNigeria MUST cease every military aid & assistance to #Nigeria immediately. Stop aiding #Fulani terrorism!”
