NewsOne Nigeria reports that General Overseer of Living Faith Church Worldwide, also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo, reacted to the reopening of churches across the country amid Coronavirus in Nigeria, saying “we serve a prayer-answering God.”

The controversial Nigerian Bishop who spoke at the Church’s Covenant Hour of Prayer on Saturday, convened virtually, maintained that churches remained a solution centre to all crises humans face.

His words: “Twenty-one states as at last night, if I’m correct, twenty-one states of the nation are open to worship.

“The other ones have no choice; they should just know that they have no choice,” Bishop Oyedepo said.

He added that God had already answered the prayers of the saints against the Coronavirus pandemic and that the signs are showing globally.

“Yesterday, the American president, Donald Trump, declared places of worship open across the United States.

“That is how God has been humiliating this noisome pestilence; watch out, very shortly, every part of the world would be totally free,” he said.

Bishop Oyedepo went on to predict that the “fear of this noisome pestilence would be gone into oblivion,” even as he prayed that “Nigeria is free from the torture and torment of the Coronavirus virus and the fear of it.”

Bishop Oyedepo’s statement is coming after Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 in Nigeria, had warned against reopening of places of worship, adding that it would be very much around for some time, hence, the need to take precautionary measures.
