BREAKING: Ajuri Ngelale Resigns As Special Adviser to President Tinubu, See Why

Ajuri Ngelale has resigned as the Special Adviser to President Tinubu.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale,  has resigned from his position effective immediately.

In a statement released by the Presidency on Saturday, September 7, 2024, Ngelale announced that he had submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, informing him of his decision to take an indefinite leave.

Ngelale also relinquished his roles as Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.

President Tinubu’s spokesman explained that his decision to step down was driven by pressing medical issues affecting both his immediate and extended family.

The statement read: “On Friday, I informed the Chief of Staff to the President of my decision to proceed on an indefinite leave of absence to address urgent medical matters affecting my immediate family.

“While I understand that the duties of state continue unabated, this difficult decision—entailing a suspension of my roles as Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Official Spokesperson of the President, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen—was made after extensive consultations with my family due to a serious medical situation at home.

“I hope to return to full national service when circumstances allow. I kindly request privacy for my family and myself during this period,” Ajuri Ngelale said.
