Newsone Nigeria reports that the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, southern Nigeria, Waheed Ayilara is dead.
This online news platform understands that Waheed Ayilara died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in Ikeja on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
A report monitored on The Nation by Newsone Nigeria, says the Akwa Ibom CP underwent prostate cancer surgery on Wednesday, just hours before his death.
“We are very sad to inform you that our friend, brother, and family member, the Commissioner of Police for Akwa Ibom State, Waheed Ayilara, is dead,” a family member said.
