Armed Security Men Invade Nigeria Labour Congress Headquarters Over Protest
Armed security men have invaded Nigeria Labour Congress Headquarters amid ongoing protest.
Newsone Nigeria reports that armed security men suspected to be from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) on Wednesday evening, August 7, 2024, in large numbers invaded Labour House, the offices of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abuja, the nation’s capital, breaking into some of the floors and ransacking books and files.
The Nigeria Labour Congress disclosed this in a post on the micro-blogging site, X formerly known as Twitter.
According to the NLC, the armed security men who invaded the Nigeria Labour Congress Headquarters, carried various materials into their vans, claiming that the materials were used to incite and organise the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests in the country.
The NLC tweeted: “Armed security men, both in uniform and mufti just invaded the Labour House in their numbers and were at the 10th floor and 2nd floor.
“They broke into 2nd floor and ransacked books at the bookshop carrying all the materials into their van claiming that the materials were used to incite and organise the recent protest,” the post added.

Meanwhile, Newsone reports that Protesters have continued to hit the streets in Lagos, Oyo, Abuja, and other states as they call for, among others, the reversal of fuel subsidy removal and the skyrocketing price of goods and services in the country.
The #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest has, however, been marred with looting by hoodlums in Kano and other northern regions with the Nigerian Police Force going after the culprits to recover some items.
