Benue State Records First Coronavirus Case
Benue State, north-central Nigeria, has recorded its first Coronavirus case.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the suspected Coronavirus (COVID-19) case as positive in a statement released on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Saturday evening, March 28.
This burgeoning online news platform understands that the first Coronavirus in Benue brings the number of cases of coronavirus in Nigeria to eighty-nine (89) from its initial eighty-one (81)
Giving an update on the spread of the disease, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted: “8 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria, 7 in Lagos and 1 in Benue State.
“As at 04:00 pm 28th March, there are 89 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria with 1 death.
“As at 04:00 pm 28th March, there are 89 confirmed cases 1 death For a breakdown of cases by states in real-time, please see covid19.ncdc.gov.ng Currently; Lagos- 59 FCT- 14 Ogun- 3 Enugu- 2 Ekiti- 1 Oyo- 3 Edo- 2 Bauchi- 2 Osun-1 Rivers-1 Benue- 1,” the tweet added.
