Newsone understands that a report has emerged in some section of the Nigerian media, claiming that Billionaire kidnapper Evans has been sentenced to death by hanging.
This online news platform understands that the report claimed that billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike popularly known as Evans was sentenced to death by hanging by a Lagos High Court on Thursday, November 25, 2021.
The report added that Evans who was charged with kidnapping had pleaded not guilty at the sentencing by an Igbosere High Court in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.
Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that Evans was also charged for attempting to kidnap the chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors, Mr. Vincent Obianodo.
Other charges against the kidnap kingpin are bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping, and unlawful possession of firearms.
Evans was docked with three other defendants Joseph Emeka, Chiemeka Arinze, and Udeme Upong.
Newsone recalls that Evans was arrested by the Inspector General of police’s Intelligence Response Team led by Abba Kyari.
Evans was declared wanted 2013, after he allegedly masterminded the attempted kidnap of Mr Vincent Obianudo, a businessman who owns the popular Young Shall Grow Motors.
As of the time of filing this report, Newsone Nigeria could not independently verify if Evans sentenced by death by hanging is true and if the court sat for the judgment on the case as widely reported.
