Coronavirus in Nigeria has risen to 30 with the confirmation of 3 new cases by the NCDC.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced three confirmed cases of Coronavirus (Covid-19), increasing the total number to 30 in Nigeria.
This burgeoning online news platform understands that the three new cases announced by the NCDC were found in Lagos and two of them are returning travellers while one of them is a contact of a confirmed case.
The NCDC tweeted: “Three new cases of #COVID19 have been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria. 2 cases are returning travellers and 1 is a contact of a confirmed case.
“As at 05:28 pm on the 22nd of March, there are 30 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria. 2 have been discharged with no deaths,” the tweet added.
Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria reports that this is coming after the Lagos State Ministry of Health announced that three new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial city.
The Lagos State Ministry of Health said in a tweet that one of the 3 new patients is a 51year old Briton who arrived Nigeria March 8 via BA75 flight. It added that the 2nd is a Nigerian on connecting flight KL0582 London Amsterdam / KL0587 Amsterdam – Lagos March 14.
LSMOH added in its tweet that the 3rd is a 65year old United States citizen who arrived in Lagos about 6 weeks ago.
Confirming the same, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said three new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Lagos. It added that the cases had a history of travelling to high-risk countries in the last seven days.
NewsOne Nigeria reports that this brings the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the country to 30 as at 05:28 pm on Sunday. This is includes the case announced by Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, southwest Nigeria on Saturday night.
