BREAKING: Finally, Former CBN Governor Emefiele Released from Kuje Prison

Former CBN Governor Emefiele.

Former CBN Governor Emefiele has been granted N300m bail by the court.

Newsone reports that a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Maitama has granted bail to Godwin Emefiele, a former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

This online news platform understands that Former CBN Governor Emefiele was granted bail in the sum of N300 million.

Justice Hamza Muazu in a ruling on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, held that Emefiele should produce two sureties, who must have landed property in the Maitama District of the FCT.

Former CBN Governor Emefiele was not in court during today’s proceedings, having been remanded at Kuje Prison last week.

Newsone Nigeria recalls that two weeks ago, another FCT High Court ordered his release in a fundamental human rights suit he instituted against the federal government.

The court adjourned till November 28 for the commencement of trial.
