Timileyin Ajayi in court

Gospel Singer Timileyin Ajayi has been sentenced to death for killing Salome Adaidu.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the High Court in Lafia, Nasarawa State, northern Nigeria, has sentenced Oluwatimileyin Ajayi, the suspected killer of a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Salome Adaidu, to death by hanging.

The presiding judge, Justice Simon Aboki, found Ajayi guilty of killing and dismembering Adaidu.

This online news platform understands that Ajayi had been charged with one count of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code of Northern Nigeria and punishable by death.

During his trial, Ajayi was accused of murdering Adaidu at his residence in Papalana, New Karshi, on January 12, 2025.

The gospel singer was later caught attempting to dispose of her severed body—a shock that reverberated nationwide given his status as a gospel musician.
