BREAKING: Federal Government Reopens Hotels Amid Coronavirus In Nigeria

The Federal Government has reopened hotels amid Coronavirus in Nigeria.

NewsOne Nigeria reports that the Presidential Task Force On COVID- 19 on Tuesday evening, said hotels, small businesses, and the informal sector can resume business activities across the country.

The National Coordinator of the PFT, Sani Aliyu, who said this during the daily briefing of the task force in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital, added that the sectors were vital for the smooth running of the economy of Nigeria.

He said, “Effective from Tuesday, June 2, the easing of the lockdown will be characterise by the following:

“Hotels may reopen but must observe all mandatory non-pharmaceutical intervention.

“Small businesses are allowed to open. We are encouraging the informal sector to reopen and we will provide additional guidelines on this,” the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force On COVID- 19 said.

The National Coordinator of the PFT added that some of the key requirements would be the provision of temperature monitoring equipment in the markets and areas where the businesses operate, provision of hand sanitizers and avoiding crowds.

Aliyu also said regarding hotels, he said hotels could open and restaurants operating within the hotels could also reopen, but the PTF said they could only serve guests within the hotels. The task force maintained that restaurants were not allowed to reopen, except they operate within a hotel.

In a related development, the Federal Government has lifted the ban on religious gatherings and also changed the Nationwide curfew time.
