Gernot Rohr has been sacked as Super Eagles coach.

A report monitored on Omasports by Newsone Nigeria, says the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has dismissed Gernot Rohr as the head coach of the Nigerian national football team popularly known as the Super Eagles.

This online news platform understands that Gernot Rohr sacked despite his team progressing to Africa’s 2022 World Cup play-offs.

Newsone reports that the Super Eagles being three-time African champions, finished top of Group C despite being held 1-1 by Cape Verde in Lagos on Tuesday.

The sacked  Gernot Rohr was appointed head coach of the Super Eagles in August 2016 and led the team to a third-place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, Newsone Nigeria reports that the German’s conservative approach and Super Eagles’ uninspiring performances have been heavily criticised by the media and Nigerian football supporters.
