A former Nigerian Governor is set to resign as President Tinubu Minister.
Newsone reports that Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Bako Lalong, is set to resign his position in President Bola Tinubu’s administration just a few months after his appointment.
This online news platform understands that Lalong’s possible resignation as Tinubu Minister emerged on Thursday when the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented a Certificate of Return to Lalong as the rightful winner of the Plateau South senatorial election following the Court of Appeal ruling to that effect.
Reports have it that the former Nigerian Governor Lalong had weighed his options and eventually decided to quit the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in order to join the 10th Senate as elected Senator representing Plateau South.
Newsone Nigeria recalls that the Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital had nullified the participation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its senatorial candidate in the February 25 National Assembly elections for Plateau South Senatorial District, Napoleon Bali, on the ground of refusal to carry out a lawful order of the court.
