The government has declared a December 1 Public Holiday.

Newsone reports the government through the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery has declared Friday, December 1, 2023, as a public holiday. The December 1 public holiday has been set aside to mark the Farms Day occasion.

“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 1st December, 2023 which marks Farmers’ Day, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the count,” the Minister said in a statement.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the National Farmers’ Day is an annual celebration of farmers and fishermen, observed on the first Friday of December in Ghana, West Africa.

On Farmers’ Day, the Ministry of Food and Agriculture honors with special awards to deserving farmers and fishermen based on their practices and output.
