Governor Sanwo-Olu To Impose Curfew In Lagos Over Coronavirus

Governor Sanwo-Olu says he may impose curfew in Lagos over the outbreak of coronavirus in Nigeria’s commercial city.

Newsone Nigeria reports that the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has disclosed that he may shut down the state due to increasing cases of deadly coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state.

This burgeoning online news platform understands that the governor of Lagos State made this known on Friday, March 27 during a live broadcast at the State House, Marina, where he briefed Lagosians on what his “great Lagos” administration was doing to contain the COVID-19.

His words, “We are moving to the direction of curfew, but there are indices and numbers we need to see, we haven’t seen that number yet to warrant a curfew.

“The disease is not a respecter of anybody. It doesn’t look at class, gender or race, everybody is at risk, that is why we need to obey the rules and regulations set for ourselves,” Governor Sanwo-Olu said.

Newsone Nigeria reports that this is coming a day after Nigeria recorded the highest number of coronavirus in a day since COVID-19 first berthed in the country in February.

The cases of Coronavirus in Nigeria have risen to 65 with the confirmation of 14 new cases by the NCDC.

This burgeoning online news platform understands that of the fourteen coronaviruses recorded on Thursday evening, six were detected on a vessel, three are returning travellers into Nigeria and one is a close contact of a confirmed case, a tweet on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Thursday evening, March 26 by the NCDC revealed.
